MAN Truck and Bus celebrates 100 years

The name MAN Truck & Bus AG did not however exist at the time the company was founded. "Lastwagen Werke M.A.N.-Saurer GmbH" (M.A.N.-Saurer Truck Works) – LWW for short – was the entry made in the City of Nuremberg companies register on 21 June 1915. At that time, the company Saurer was the leading truck manufacturer in Switzerland – and new partner to the Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg (M.A.N.). At the time M.A.N. General Director von Rieppel was planning to set up the company´s own truck and bus production plant in 1914, the First World War had just broken out. So there was no time for M.A.N. to develop its own vehicles and instead, it found a partner with the necessary know-how in the form of Saurer.It was Anton von Rieppel himself who approached Adolph Saurer in a letter written in December 1914. This gave rise to negotiations between the two companies. Mr. von Rieppel had originally planned to acquire a license from Saurer to build his own trucks.As well as trucks, LWW also produced omnibuses, mainly for the "Reichspost" and city transport companies. Especially the country buses built by LWW were a common sight on the roads at that time.

Mercedes among MPVs achieves impreesive interim results

One year after its market launch the new V-Class has already been delivered to more than 20 000 customers. As a result, the new V-Class has become a truly successful model among MPVs within just a very short period of time. In the first year since its market launch the V-Class has sold 25 percent more vehicles than the preceding model, the Viano, achieved in its first year of sales following its sales start in September 2003.
According to Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans: "We are proud of the V-Class. In the past year we have redefined the MPV segment with this vehicle; a fact which is also confirmed by our current sales figures. Meanwhile all of the variants have become available on the market for our customers to choose from, creating the best possible conditions to be continuously successful with the V-Class around the world."

Lamborghini launches a third modle of luxury SUV

New Lamborghini SUV: Production in Sant’Agata Bolognese and investment of hundreds of millions of Euros.Automobili Lamborghini announces a luxury SUV as a third model to join its product range. The market introduction of the series model is planned for 2018. A concept of the car was first presented as the Lamborghini Urus in 2012 at the Beijing auto show.

The new vehicle will be produced in Sant'Agata Bolognese and will herald additional growth and significant opportunities across the marque with the expansion of the product range. It will also determine a substantial increase in the production capacity of the factory. Over the lifecycle of the new vehicle the company will invest hundreds of millions of Euros.

The project will be realized due to the joint commitment of several parties involved, including Volkswagen Group with AUDI AG as Lamborghini shareholder, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, Invitalia (Italian national agency for inward investments and economic development), Emilia Romagna Region, the Union Representatives and the entire Automobili Lamborghini team.

Daimler Bus Strategy for Indian & Export market

BharatBenz has started to enter into next phase of its journey in India.  Daimler Trucks and Buses opened a new bus plant at its Chennai production facility near Chennai, India. The company also revealed new heavy duty & new buses.

Daimler is going to invest about EUR 50 million in to bus business vertical. Daimler is playing with dual brand strategy, one for premium segment and one for Budget Bus segment. Mercedes will be in luxury segment and BharatBenz brand for Budget segment for application like School, Staff, Stage carrier etc. The bus plant covers a total area of roughly 113,000 square meters, is initially set up for a capacity of 1,500 vehicles a year. This can be expanded up to a maximum of 4,000 units. It creates around 300 job opportunity in India. Premium Bus segment is dominate by Volvo, now Scania is also entered into the same segment.

"The Indian M&HCV (More than 7.5T GVW) Bus market size is around 40,000 units and it would touch around 70,000 units by 2020. BharatBenz brand will enter into mass market segment of Bus which is having front engine vehicle. Conventionally, low price buses in India are priced in the range of Rs 15-25 lakh and the premium/luxury bus range upwards of Rs 80 lakh. Budget segment is still waiting for correct product portfolio with price range should come around 40 – 50 lakh. This Budget segment is mainly driven by higher Middle and other economical & Technological changes have certainly contributed to the success of this segment. To be successful in Bus segment, DICV should provide comprehensive solutions like Safety, Machine based ticket buying system, Environment friendly vehicle, Tracking system, Wi Fi, Route map on website etc. Tata Motors, VECV, SML Isuzu and Ashok Leyland is having strong hold in some of the traditional segment. Country like India require 6,000 to 7,000 buses every year. Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan & Maharashtra are the major bus markets in India.As per our latest survey people are ready to pay more for comfort and safety. Fleet owners and Govt should support to provide better transportation facilities to the passengers. Some fleet owners are still not ready to give premium services and still using old buses on some specific routes. For example there is no AC bus available on Kota- Ahmedabad route. OEM needs to target Tier I & II cities also and not restricted to metro cities only.

Volkswagen Group inaugurates 20th plant in China

Volkswagen is the market in China and having two JV with local players. Volkswagen inaugurates new 119th global vehicle plant (20th in China) in southern Chinese city of Changsha. This is having capacity of 300,000 units for Vollkswagen and Skoda vehicle.Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft and President and CEO of Volkswagen Group China. The plant will create more than 4,000 new jobs, together with 4,000 more in the neighboring supplier park.


"China is not only the Volkswagen Group's largest and most important market; it has also become the Group's second home market. We intend to develop the entire country as a company with local roots, Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann emphasized. "The plant in Changsha is a key step in our "Go South" strategy in China. This new facility will bring us nearer to our Chinese customers and also improve the quality of our supply chain."

European Commercial Vehicle Market is showing continues growth

Demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU continued to expand (+12.2%), totalling 169,746 units. Growth was sustained across all commercial vehicle segments. The UK (+22.8%) and Spain (+18.5%) posted double‐digit growth, followed by Italy (+9.0%), Germany (+7.0%) and France (+1.4%), which also saw their demand increase, contributing to the overall expansion.

Four months into the year, the EU market expanded by 13.0%, totalling 671,701 commercial vehicles. Over the period, Spain (+35.2%), the UK (+23.9%) Italy (+7.6%) and Germany (+7.1%) all posted growth, while France remained stable (+0.01%).
Light Commercial Vehicle:ew registrations of light commercial vehicles totalled 139,598 units, up 11.8% compared to April 2014. This marked the twentieth consecutive month of growth in this segment. rom January to April 2015, 558,419 new vans were registered in the EU, or 13.1% more than in the same period last year.

results showed a 20.8% increase in new heavy truck registrations, totalling 21,543 units. This positive outcome was mainly sustained by the significant growth recorded in the UK (+79.2%), Spain (+38.6%) and France (+24.1%). Noteworthy was the contribution of the new EU member states (+32.2%) to last month’s positive outcome. Four months into the year, the EU market grew by 17.0%, reaching 82,039 units.

Tata Group’s Jaguar Land Rover posts profit

Motors Ltd is India's largest automobile company and market leader in comercial vehicle dissappointed its financial result. Company reported lower-than-expected consolidated net profit at Rs 1,717 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2015 (Q4) on account of also its luxury vehicle manufacture lower-than-expected operating performance at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). Its  earnings of $6.4 billion on revenue of $33.6 billion for its fiscal year that ended March 31. 
Company volume is still strong and we are expcting 7 to 9 % growth in FY 16. The Commercial vehicle started to show positive growth specially in M&HCV segment. After result announce by company, its share plunge by 5.37% pct.

Scania completed 50 years in Chinese market

The Chinese Ministry of Forestry bought 10 Scania-Vabis trucks in 1965 for long-term evaluation in exceptionally tough timber haulage application. It was the beginning of Scania’s continuous 50-year presence in world biggest Truck market China. 
There was no plan of Scania to enter into such partnership with China but intititave taken by Chinese Ministry of Forestry. It was like a test performance of European heavy truck in tough situation. 50 years back China did not have a product which could perform in tough situation.

Scania’s Argentine started exports to Europe

Scania has invested USD 43 million in Argentina plant in last two years to increase efficiency and boosting the plant’s potential production output. The investment and strategy work out. The plant started to export components to exports to Europe by 600 percent. 

Truck, bus and engine manufacturer Scania’s Tucumán production facility is located in Argentina’s north and produces a wide range of transmission components.

Porsche and Bosch develope advance hybrid car

Porsche was the first car manufacturer in the world to offer three plug-in hybrid models. 918 Spyder, the Panamera S E-Hybrid and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid are few models with this technology. Bosch is the one of the mosted trust supplier for company.  Porsche demonstrated combination of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor were impressively demonstrated by the Porsche hybrid vehicles at the 62nd International Automotive Press Briefing at the Boxberg test track.

Porsche Recalling 918 Spyder Models

Sport car Porsche issue notice to global recall for its 918 Spyder models that are already running on the road. This precautionary recall applicable for a service inspection affects 223 vehicles in the USA. Electric wiring harness for a radiator fan in vehicles manufactured up until the end of April 2015 could be damaged by a carbon-fiber component. This will be rectifiy in worksop after doing proper diagnosos of the vehicle.

Scania tested First Euro 6 gas coach

Scania has tested its Euro 6 coach for gas operation OmniEpress 320 in Vendee (French County).
Locally generated biogas fuel used , which is produced by ten farmers at four farms since April 2014. India could be one of the potential market for the company due to easy avaibility of biofuel.

On testing, this bus will be used on around 30-kilometre school route and subsequently be put in operation on a regular 200-kilometre line also. The bus seats 55 passengers and has space for one wheelchair. It carries eight 150-litre gas tanks, which is sufficient for a 500 kilometre journey.

Audi target new records in 2015

The German premium Audi Group ready to set new records in 2015. More than 591,000 unts cars delivered in the first four months (Jan to April 2015) in 2015,  its record unit sales of 1.74 million automobiles in 2014. Europe saw good growth but Asia Pacific, Brazil and Russia noted de growth in jan to April 2015. “So far this year, the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand achieved its strongest growth in Europe”, “However, developments in the global market situation remain mixed. GM invest $5.4 Billion in U.S. Plant to improve quality and productivity

General Motors declared to invest $5.4 billion in U.S plant improvements in next three years. It is included in $783.5 million for three Michigan facilities. The $5.4-billion new investment translates to GM investing in U.S. operations around $5 million per day or $150 million every month for the next three years. GM will detail the remaining $4.6 billion and identify plants involved over the next several months.

Daimler launched self drive Truck

In July 2014 the largest truck manufacture Daimler Trucks provided the world's first demo of an self driving truck in action when the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 drove along a cordoned-off section of an autobahn. The Inspiration Truck is now the next milestone on the highway to series production of the Highway Pilot system. In the field of commercial vehicles, the Highway Pilot system is the only one in the world to feature the kind of sensor and camera technology that makes operation of the Freightliner Inspiration Truck possible – from initial acceleration to the speed limit for trucks.

Mercedes-Benz touched new sales record in April 15

We began the second quarter with double-digit sales growth”, said Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales. “In the course of the year, we plan to keep that momentum going with a stream of new products including four new or revised SUVs. Volvo first electric bus launched

If you are going to Sweden, you can have drive between Lindholmen and Chalmers/Johanneberg in Gothenburg on rout 55 in Volvo Electric Bus. This new route will be operated by three all-electric Volvo buses and seven electric hybrids Volvo buses. The buses are ready with battery boxes that can be quick-charged with renewable electricity at their end terminals. Energy consumption of these Volvo electric buses is about 80 per cent lesser compare to diesel buses.

“Right now we are carrying out final testing to ensure everything works just as it should when regular traffic gets under way. This marks a major milestone in our development of new solutions for electrified buses. Quiet and entirely exhaust-free operation will contribute both to a better urban environment and reduced climate impact, while passengers get a more pleasant ride,” says Håkan Agnevall, President Volvo Buses.

Maruti registers 34% sales growth in June 2014


Maruti sold a total of 112,773 units including domestic and export sales in the month of June 2014 against 84,455 units sold in June 2013, registering growth of 34%. Domestic sales bagged 31% growth for June 2014 at 100,964 units sold against 77,002 units sold in June 2013.  The exports for the month increase by 58% with 11,809 units in June 2014 against 7,453 units for June 2013.

Mahindra Auto Sector Registers 1% sales growth for June 2014


Mahindra & Mahindra's  total auto sales stood at 38,466 units during June 2014, as against 38,092 units during June 2013, registering 1% growth. The company’s domestic sales stood at 36,452 units during June 2014, as against 36,207 units during June 2013. In June 2014, the 4-wheelers commercial segment sold 14,138 units, while the 3-wheelers segment clocked 4,544 units. Exports for the month stood at 2,014 units.

Eicher commercial vehicle sales is in cyclic order. In FY 2008-09, it sold 17,341 vehicle including Truck and Bus. In FY 2014-15 it sold 35,445 units and registered 4.2% growth. FY 2011-12 was one of the best year for Eicher.The company is strong in LCV segment. Its heavy truck portfolio for off road application still need some new products to penetrate this segment. In Haulage segment it is having strong grip, Pro Series introduced to fill this product gap in Tipper and Tractor (Long Haulage). Premium brand Volvo sold 102 units in FY15 compare to 105 units in FY 2014, de growth of 2.9%.

Maruti Suzuki noted impressive growth in the first month of new financial year 2015-16. It registered around 56% percent growth in export and 27% growth in Domestic sales. Company sold total 100,709 units in domestic sales, Export jumped from 7,077 units to 11,039 units. There is quantum increased in total sales of company.
