All-new Honda BR-V Prototype to make world premiere at Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show

Honda Prospect Motor released the first official sketches of the all-new Honda BR-V Prototype which will make its world premiere at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show 2015, scheduled for August 20 – 30, 2015, in Tangerang, Indonesia.

The new BR-V was jointly developed for the Asian market by Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd., in Thailand, and P.T. Honda R&D Indonesia. This model will be introduced to the Indonesian market as Honda’s new generation crossover utility vehicle to address various customer needs.

New two-wheeled record for Nissan Juke NISMO RS and Terry Grant

Stuntman Terry Grant has broken his own world record for the fastest mile travelled on two wheels in a four-wheeled vehicle – the sporty incarnation of Nissan's Juke, the NISMO RS. 

Grant has six attempts at travelling up the famous Goodwood hillclimb course during this weekend's Festival of Speed, but broke the record on the first go, achieving a time of 2m10s. 

That eclipses his previous record, set in a Nissan Juke at the Festival of Speed in 2011, of 2m55s and sets a new benchmark for the unique challenge.

From EIB and SACE: € 600 Million for FCA’s Research Activities in Italy

The European Investment Bank (EIB), SACE and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced today that they have finalized a € 600 million loan earmarked to support the automotive group's research, development and production plans for 2015-17. The three-year loan provided by EIB and 50% guaranteed by SACE relates to FCA’s production and R&D sites in both northern and southern Italy.

Noren Leads the Charge for Team Honda HRC at Budds Creek

Round six of the AMA Motocross series is a race that Team Honda HRC would like to put behind them, as the squad was dogged with misfortune for much of the day. After crashing earlier in the week, Cole Seely was only able to complete one complete lap of timed practice, ultimately not qualifying him to compete, so teammate Fredrik Noren was the lone rider representing the factory effort.

Cars.com Names Toyota Camry as Most American-Made, Again!

The results are in, and Cars.com has named two Toyota models as most American-Made.

The Toyota Camry and the Toyota Sienna have claimed the top two spots, respectively, in the annual Cars.com American-Made Index. This marks Toyota’s return to the American-Made pinnacle for the first time in three years and the fifth time overall that Camry has been ranked number one on the index.

FCA Statement: Suspension-component Inspection/Replacement

FCA US LLC is advising approximately 65 SUV owners in the U.S. to stop driving their vehicles.

The SUVs, assembled earlier this month, are being recalled because they may have been inadvertently equipped with improperly heat-treated suspension components. This condition, which was not apparent during the assembly process, could lead to component breakage, rear-end instability and/or reduced braking power.

Nissan Motorsports net three wins, seven podiums in U.S. in a weekend to remember

Nissan’s U.S.–based pro road racing teams had a weekend to remember at Road America (WI) and Watkins Glen (NY), taking three class wins and standing on a podium seven times overall. It was a stunning achievement, with all three racing teams taking home hardware on a single weekend.

James Davison closed out the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GT races at Road America in Wisconsin Sunday with a dominating performance in the #33 Always Evolving Replay XD Camera Systems Nissan GT-R NISMO. The talented Australian transplant powered his GT-R past the Lamborghini of Tomas Enge around the halfway mark in the 50-minute sprint race and pulled away from the field on the scenic four-mile road course. Davison survived a late race restart to easily notch his second PWC victory in impressive fashion.

Doran Racing’s Nissan 370Z driven by Jaeger and Zacharias finishes third at Watkins Glen

Rain played a big role in Saturday's Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (CTSCC) race at Watkins Glen International, but in the end Doran Racing's #14 Nissan 370Z driven by Brad Jaeger and B.J. Zacharias posted its second consecutive podium finish both in the series and in this race.

The weather made for slippery conditions and poor visibility throughout the event, but all concerned did their best to deal with it, and both of the team's cars returned to the garage area unscathed. The 2.5-hour race ended under yellow with 45 laps complete after a red flag to try to sweep standing water off the course, and Zacharias took the checkered in third place behind Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell's Camaro and Ashley Freiberg and Trent Hindman's BMW.

Volkswagen Group makes a good start to fiscal year 2015

The Volkswagen Group has made a good start to fiscal year 2015 despite a market environment that remains challenging. Sales revenue rose by 10.3 percent to EUR 52.7 billion (EUR 47.8 billion) in the first quarter as a result of higher volumes, improvements in the mix and positive exchange rate effects. Operating profit grew by 16.6 percent to EUR 3.3 billion (EUR 2.9 billion). The operating return on sales increased to 6.3 percent (6.0 percent). The Group’s operating profit and sales revenue exclude the activities of the Chinese joint ventures, which are accounted for in the financial result using the equity method. The share of operating profit attributable to the Chinese joint ventures in the first three months rose to EUR 1.6 billion (EUR 1.2 billion).

Scania breakthrough in Indonesian bus market

Scania will deliver more than 100 articulated gas buses to Jakarta’s Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system. The new Scania gas buses conform to the highest Euro 6 emission standard, thereby significantly reducing pollution and carbon emissions.

JAC Releases Its First Compact SUV S3 in Chile

Next-Generation Acura NSX to Serve as Official Pace Car for the 93rd Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

The next-generation Acura NSX supercar will serve as the official pace car in the 93rd running of the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 28. With a custom racing-inspired livery, the twin-turbo charged NSX pace car will lead the field of 140 entrants to the top of the 14,110-foot Colorado mountain.
