Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced on 12th February that it would begin sales of their all-new JADE across Japan on 13th February 2015. The all-new 6 seater vehicle boasts a powerful engine performance and high quality driving, without compromising on minivan-class comfort and utility inside it's splendidly crafted design with a total vehicle height as low as a sedan.
Three row seating, with a low-height and stylish design coupled with ultrahigh-density low-floor platform makes it compatible with numberous multi-level parking garages, offering it's occupants an ecstatic ride and wide view thanks to the adopted seat-sliding mechanism.
Being equipped with Honda SENSING has helped the Honda's advanced driver-assistive system expand it's scope beyond obstacles to include pedestrians too. The Honda JADE houses the Honda Sport Hybrid i-dcd, a hybrid system based on the 1.5l direct injection DOHC i-VTEC engine, helping thie design realise comfortable driving at all speeds and increased levels of fuel efficiency. The Honda SENSING system consists of two types of sensors: One is a millimeter-wave radar located behind the front emblem, and the other is a monocular camera mounted on the upper, inner part of the windshield.
The all new JADE encompasses a plethora of features that makes it unique, that makes it stand apart from the crowd. The front row seats assume a sedan-like position to give an out of the world driving experience like never felt before. The second row seats, named the "V -slide captain seats" carefully avoids the rear wheelhouse and slide diagonally backward to ensure a comfortable frontal view to the passengers. The third row seats adopt a foldable, independant structure to give a more spacious luggage compartment.
One of the main features that characterize the JADE however lies in it's ultra high-density low-floor platform. This resulted in a more compact and thinner fuel tank and exhaust system, coupled with a double wishbone suspension.
The low height of the exterior design mirroring that of a sedan makes the JADE compatible with multi-level parking garages and the length of the vehicle also helps to realise a spacious cabin as well as effortless handling of the vehicle.
The new JADE does'nt impress with just the fearce exterior designs. It's interiors also make one go in awe. Dynamic, symmetric panels extending from behind the steering wheel to the passenger side and silver-rimmed wood-grain decorative panels scream for attention to the slender, aesthetically pleasant interior design.
Security and safety also take an upper hand with the features of the new JADE. This is realised by the LaneWatch system, which aids by displaying live images on the navigation system, streamed directly from a camera mounted on the bottom of the outer mirror on the passenger's side. This system regulates safe lane changing,merging and making acute turns. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering(ACE) system that it encompasses ,uses the G-Force Control Technology(G-CON) and helps to enhance protection in the event of a collision, by absorbing it's impact. It mitgates the effects of a collision with either other vehicles or pedestrians.
Prevention is always better than cure. To prevent accidents, The Vehicle Stability Assist(VSA) system and the Emergency Stop Signal(ESS) system warns the vehicles following behind of a sudden stop.
