John Casesa Joins Ford as leader of Global Strategy

The Ford Motor company announced on February 17th this year that Auto analyst and investment banker, John Casesa was going to join the Ford group as group Vice president. The main aim was to find someone to lead Global strategy. Casesa will be leading a group focussing on existing businesses and strategizing future courses of action by analyzing and evaluating profitable opportunities. His work also revolves mainly around understanding the constantly changing environment and to improvise the plans according to the situation. This also includes nudging the company towards smart investments in new products, technologies, models and ideas.
Casesa aged 52 will be the senior most leader and he reports to Ford president and CEO, Mark Fields. His appointment will be effective starting March 1, 2015.

It is more important than ever that we operate with a focus on delivering today’s business and an equal focus on anticipating and meeting the needs of customers five, 10 and 15 years down the road,” said Fields. “John knows business and the auto industry inside and out. His deep experience and relationships will help guide and shape our global strategies – particularly as we challenge today’s business model and push to innovate to make us even stronger tomorrow.”
Casesa worked at Guggenheim Partners as a senior managing director till 2010, where he was the pioneer of the firm's banking activities. He gave strategy ideas and advice to many of the auto industry's leading companies. Before working at Guggenheim, he spent almost 20 years as an automobile analyst at Merill Lynch & Co. and Schroders PLC. He also worked as a product planning analyst at General Motors and was ranked an All-Star elven times by the Instutional Investor magazine.
